Ezra privacy notice

What Ezra is

Ezra is an AI family assistant on StarzHive. It helps you keep track of what's happening, what you're trying, questions you'd like researched, and reminders. Ezra is not a doctor, therapist or diagnostic service and is not a substitute for professional care.

What Ezra keeps

The messages you send Ezra and its replies, and the things Ezra organizes from them - notes, strategies and how they went, possible patterns, research summaries and reminders. These are kept in your family's private Ezra space, which other families cannot see.

How it's used

  • Only to help your family: to reply to you, organize your family's journey and remind you of things you asked for.
  • Ezra's replies are written by an AI model from an outside provider, which receives your messages in order to produce them.
  • When Ezra looks up research, it searches published research using general topics only - never your family's names, your child's name or other personal details.
  • Ezra only messages you on its own for reminders you asked for. Anything else it notices waits until you next talk.

Voice notes, documents and photos

  • Ezra uses these only after you agree to this version of the notice (Ezra asks you in Messages first).
  • Voice notes (up to 5 minutes) are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to be turned into text. The text becomes your message to Ezra. The recording is deleted as soon as it has been transcribed; if transcription fails it is kept for at most 24 hours and then deleted automatically.
  • Documents (PDF, Word DOCX or plain text, up to 15 MB) are checked and read in an isolated system with no internet access. The original file and its text are kept privately in your family's Library until you delete your family's Ezra data. The text may be sent to our AI provider when Ezra helps you with it. Ezra treats what a document says as information only - it never follows instructions written inside a document.
  • Photos (up to 10 MB) have location and camera details removed and are kept privately in your family's Library until you delete your family's Ezra data. A photo may be sent to our AI provider so Ezra can see it while answering you. Ezra does not identify people in photos and does not suggest diagnoses or medical conditions from them.
  • Nothing you send is shared with research services, other families or anyone else. Research searches still use general topics only.
  • Up to 20 attachments per family per day.
  • Like any message, what you send in StarzHive Messages also stays in your StarzHive chat, which StarzHive keeps separately. Deleting your Ezra data removes Ezra's copies; to remove the chat copy, delete the message in StarzHive.

Your choices

You can download a copy of your family's information, or delete it permanently, at any time in My Family → Settings (the download lists every document and photo, which you can download from My Family → Library; deleting removes the files too). You can stop using Ezra whenever you like. After deletion, Ezra keeps only a technical message number (never your words) for up to 7 days so that already-handled messages are not processed again; it is then removed automatically.
